What do downtown hipsters and uptown fashionistas have in common? They, along with other well-known stylish types, have a secret resource in the clothing and hats created by designer Maria Del Greco.

Those stunning hats have been featured on the top-rated NBC Morning News and by Barneys New York creative director Simon Doonan in his famed window displays; top photographer Bruce Weber shot Queen Latifah for a Hollywood-themed issue of Vanity Fair surrounded by beaming youngsters wearing Del Greco hats.

Based on those unique chapeaux, Simplicity also commissioned Del Greco to create an exclusive pattern for its “Accessories and Wearable Art” series. And wearable art it is, including: An architectural take on the classic beret; head-wraps that drape and tie according to the wearer’s whim; funky headscarves; mod PVC newsboy caps; faux-fur toppers, and other traffic stoppers.
